This piece was painted with acrylic on gessoed paper for the short film ‘Animal Math’, depicting a key moment in which a mysterious grimoire is opened, revealing several images of cryptic beauty. This particular painting shows the elusive Artist/Magician as he is transformed, leaving his frail body behind and emerging as a figure of infernal power: crowned with a glowing miter by The Wolf, and robed in flowing orange by a small horde of demons. Glowing lotuses and a rainbow frame the scene, signaling hope and rebirth, while the Great Beast oversees all, clutching the Artist’s earthly body in his mighty grip.

Only 50 prints will be made for this Limited Edition. Each print is hand finished by Robbie Ward with metallic gold sparks, and is numbered and signed by the artist. In the film, only a small portion of this image is unveiled at a time as the camera pans upward. Only here can we can see the painting in its entirety.
