This piece was made especially for the world premiere of the short film ‘Animal Math’. The original work was painted on birch panel, depicting the anonymous heroine surrounded by key figures from the dreamlike narrative of the film. A pair of bird-like creatures watch over their egg, while the Magician wields a flaming sword in the shadow of the mysterious Wolf. A shimmering rainbow, voluptuous poppies, and a citadel glowing with ghostly green light (Obvious nods to the ‘Oz’-like quality of the protagonist’s metaphysical journey) frame the young girl at the center of the image.

Only 50 prints will be made for this Limited Edition. Each print is hand finished by Robbie Ward with metallic silver snowflakes, and is numbered and signed by the artist. While avoiding the depiction of literal events within the narrative, this piece vividly evokes the haunted atmosphere of the film.
